Near the city of Muenster i spend a youth full of music playing different instruments in many bands and starting my recording experience on a four-track tape deck and sequencing on a Korg M1.

In the late 90s I moved to Berlin to study double bass, becoming part of the vibrant Berlin jazz scene.. This led to a few years of enjoying touring through different countries and receiving awards with various bands.

​

My main band Olaf Ton, was retrospectively recognized as a catalyst of the special Berlin breed of jazz in the early 2000's by the Jazzinstitut Darmstadt, which in 2019 also hosted an exhibition on the follow up project Brigade Futur lll.

​

From the 2000s onward, my focus shifted towards songwriting, production, and touring with my alternative pop band, Super700 for nearly a decade.

Next to touring Europe we played shows in Mexico, Canada, China  and the USA, where we where invited by Nick Harcourt on the legendary Radio show Morning Becomes Eclectic.

Simultaneously, I expanded my musical playground by creating compositions for theater, film, tv shows and radio plays.

 

For three years I lived in Kosovo, collaborating with a multitude of local artists. I also spent a considerable amount of time working in Switzerland.

Operating from my studio, THE COP SHOP, in the heart of Prenzlauer Berg i've been focusing on writing and producing for theater plays and jazz projects like the German Jazz Price nominated Brigade Futur III and the Swiss National Jazz Youth Orchestra (jugendjazzorchester.ch), together with my long-time collaborator, Benjamin Weidekamp.

I continue to produce, mix, and master music for other artists like the upcoming album of great singer and Performer Pari Eskandari on False Idols, the label of Trip Hop pioneer Tricky.  I have contributed to various projects by artists like Bruckner, Julia Marcell or remixes for bands like SEEED.
